H2M Congratulates the Keys-Collins Family

In support of Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County, H2M architects + engineers would like to congratulate the Keys-Collins family on their new Mastic Beach home.
With Town officials, sponsors and volunteers on hand, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County held the ceremony in front of the family’s new three bedroom home. In attendance from H2M was Senior Electrical Engineer and Habitat Suffolk Board Member, Michael Lantier, Executive Assistant and volunteer on the project, Joyce Cuggino, and Director of Marketing, Lori Anne De Iulio Casdia.

In May 2014, H2M sponsored the home’s construction with a $2,500 donation and a day of volunteer work. Alongside the Habitat for Humanity construction team, a group of H2M employees volunteered to work on the home’s interior framing, insulation and exterior sheathing.

“It was very gratifying seeing the before and after and knowing that my small contribution helped make a better life for this lovely family that I was able to meet,” Mrs. Cuggino said.

“Being on the [Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk’s] board of directors has provided me the opportunity to use my knowledge, expertise, and experience to assist others in obtaining their dreams of homeownership, and I couldn’t be happier for the Keys-Collins family” Mr. Lantier said.

The family, Trevor, Quinnisha and their two children, Trevor and Denise, received the keys to the home at the conclusion of the emotional ceremony. The ceremony included inspiring words from Habitat board members and Suffolk County officials, welcoming them into the Village and neighborhood.

Since its inception in 1988, Habitat of Suffolk has built over 160 houses throughout Suffolk County, providing over 500 people in our community with safe, decent, and affordable housing. Through volunteer labor and donations, Habitat builds simple, quality, affordable homes with the help of their homeowner (partner) families. These houses are sold to partner families at no profit, and financed with affordable loans. In addition to the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.

H2M believes that our commitment to the communities we serve extends far beyond the job site, and have a long history of giving to the community through a combination of employee contributions and corporate matching. The firm proudly supports a number of local charitable organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN) and Canstruction Long Island.
