RISING FROM THE ASHES

A fire left most of Oak Tree Dairy destroyed, but its wastewater treatment plant was left unscathed. As part of the plant’s reconstruction, and because of new permit limits for nitrogen removal, a new treatment plant design was created.

H2M prepared a facility plan that would maintain the original design flow of 80,000 gallons per day. After evaluation, it was discovered that the new treatment plant will meet the requirements for nitrogen removal at the existing flow because of the three blowers incorporated within the design, which are turned on and off the achieve the required degree of nitrogen reduction.
