Roadway ImprovementsIncorporated Village of Farmingdale
2007 Annual Roadway Program: Construction has recently commenced on a project involving the reconstruction of approximately 10,000 linear feet of residential roadways within the Village. This project also includes curb replacement and improvements to the existing storm drainage systems. A total of 12 roads were included in the project, with all roadway construction utilizing the mixed in-place recycling method. This method is both environmentally sensitive and cost efficient when compared to other methods of roadway rehabilitation. The Village's 2007 roadway program also included a variety of traffic calming measures on one street, such as lighted crosswalks and extended curbs at each intersection. This project is expected to be completed by August 2007 at a construction cost of $2.2 million.
