Infrastructure Upgrades SUNY Old Westbury Academic Building
Working with the project architect and State University Construction Fund personnel, H2M civil engineers have been busy with the design development and schematic design for a proposed 3 story academic building at SUNY's Old Westbury campus. The proposed building will include classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, computer labs, common instructional areas, and support spaces for several of the schools at the campus. To date, H2M's involvement has primarily been in assessing the existing utilities at the campus and making determinations regarding the need to upgrade and/or relocate various infrastructure (e.g., sanitary sewers, storm drainage systems, water supply, etc.). The civil group has also participated in the preparation of the schematic design report. The project is progressing toward final construction documents. H2M's role during that phase of the project will be to prepare construction drawings and documents for all site civil related work.
Infrastructure Upgrades Felician College
In support of H2M's architectural division, H2M's civil engineering group recently assessed the need for various capital improvements at Felician College's Lodi and Rutherford campuses. While the architects evaluated the various buildings and other structures at the two campuses, H2M's civil engineers evaluated the condition of various parking lots and other site improvements, and made recommendations for rehabilitation or reconstruction, as appropriate. In addition, several stormwater drainage issues were investigated and evaluated. As part of the assignment, a priority listing of the required site improvements, including preliminary construction budgets was prepared.
