Parking Fields United States Postal Service

H2M civil engineers designed the reconstruction of the employee parking lot at the Mid Island P&DC Facility for the United States Postal Service, Melville, NY. The project included the relocation of the employee entrance and the complete reconstruction of a 2500 space parking lot. This project was completed in December 2006 at a cost of $1.2 million. H2M civil engineers also recently completed the design of improvements to the truck loading dock at the Staten Island P&DC Facility for the USPS. The project included the re-grading of a 25 bay loading dock area, in order to provide for the 4 foot vertical separation required on modern loading docks. The original dock height was approximately two feet. The work under this project also included structural improvements to the loading dock and minor drainage improvements.

Parking Fields SUNY Stony Brook Student Parking Field

H2M civil engineers are in the process of preparing engineering plans and contract documents for a 580 stall student parking field. As part of our work under this contract, we will also be evaluating drainage problems in two nearby areas of the campus and preparing the engineering documents for the required stormwater improvements. In one case, an existing naturalized stormwater retention area is to be enlarged and improved. The second drainage solution will involve re-routing an existing stormwater conveyance system away from an important geologic feature at the campus into a new system of inter-connected drywells.
