Dix Hills Water District: Sizeable housing developments were constructed throughout the District. The high pressure zone experienced low storage levels and low pressure during peak demand, particularly summer, early morning irrigation system use. Occasionally, sufficient fire flows were unavailable should an emergency occur. H2M's Plant design included two 2MGD supply wells, distribution system, transmission main, and in the best location to most-effectively improve capacity/capability. This water supply/distribution improvement gave the District a comfort level to reliably meet its peak and fire flow water demand.
