MELVILLE, NY- H2M architects + engineers is pleased to announce that William (Bill) H. Rockensies, P.E. recently joined the firm as the Director of Construction Services in our Melville Headquarters. Bill has more than 30 years of experience as an accomplished professional in designing, leading, and executing Civil Engineering projects.

Construction Inspection has always been a valuable service provided by the H2M Water Resources Group. For years H2M has been a leader in providing quality inspection, technical expertise and management services to its clients. H2M’s vision going forward is to develop Construction Management Services into a stand-alone department offering the same quality assurance to all clients, from underground utilities to building construction.

Bill brings experience and leadership to H2M’s growing practice as a Professional Engineer with deep knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end engineering and construction process from budgeting, procurement, and contract setting through design, survey, and execution. Bill has led multi-million dollar infrastructure programs for the Town of Hempstead that range from disaster recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy to the annual Capital Construction Program. As the Commissioner of the Town of Hempstead’s Department of Engineering, every day Bill leveraged his expertise as an engineer, along with his skills as a problem-solver, and his ability to fully manage complex projects and people simultaneously to ensure the Town’s infrastructure is fortified for its nearly one million residents.

Bill will be leading as H2M’s Construction Services Group. In this role he will focus on expanding H2M’s existing Construction Inspection services which includes; roadway reconstruction, storm drain installations, concrete placement, various site construction, water supply and distribution projects, waste water treatment plant construction and the inspection of many other municipal projects.

Prior to joining H2M, Bill served as a Commissioner of the Department of Engineering for the Town of Hempstead, Civil Engineer in the Department of Public Works for Village of Freeport, Assistant Civil Engineer for NY City Department of Transportation, Construction Inspector for Goodkind & O’Dea Consulting Engineers, and has a Bachelors of Engineering with focus on Civil Engineering from Manhattan College.
