H2M employees volunteer in Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk’s Sponsor for a Day

On Saturday, May 24, employees of Melville-based design and consulting firm H2M architects + engineers participated in Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk’s Sponsor for a Day program in Mastic Beach.

A group of H2M employees worked alongside the Habitat for Humanity construction team on the home’s interior framing and insulation, as well as its exterior sheathing. The Habitat for Humanity team leader on hand for the event estimated that H2M completed in one day what would normally take most other groups three.

“Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity was a terrific opportunity for H2M to help a family in the community less fortunate than ourselves,” H2M COO Gary Loesch said. “By the end of the day, the expressions on our faces clearly suggested that it was a rewarding experience.” The volunteer work was accompanied by a $2,500 donation made by the firm to Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk.

Since its inception in 1988, Habitat of Suffolk has built over 160 houses throughout Suffolk County, providing over 500 people in our community with safe, decent, and affordable housing.
