MELVILLE, NY- H2M architects + engineers is proud to announce that Tim Hazlett, Ph.D., recently joined the firm as the Hydrogeology and Water Resource Modeling Practice Leader. Dr. Hazlett as an accomplished professional has worked across the United States and internationally on a wide range of projects with significant experience in various markets including water, environmental, and mining sectors.

For more than 80 years, H2M has built its engineering practice around its service to municipal water clients. H2M’s engineers work directly with municipal water suppliers and private water utilities to ensure drinking water safety and efficient distribution to the communities they serve. With dedicated staff solely dedicated to public water supply, H2M has designed complete water systems, including sources of supply, treatment facilities, pump stations, storage facilities and distribution systems.

Tim brings a unique foundational background to H2M’s growing practice with a Ph.D. in Hydrogeology and experience in numerical modeling, sedimentology, and geochemistry. Beyond water resources, Dr. Hazlett has worked as a high-level technical consultant on some of the largest environmental remediation sites in North America, including the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (> 3Mgal fuel plume), the Big River Pb-Contaminated Superfund Site in Missouri (100 miles of river), and the PFC Site on the Indian River Lagoon in Florida. Tim brings experience with practical applications to contaminated sediment transport, construction and remedial design support, alternative water supply and saltwater intrusion, fractured rock hydrology, cloud computing, and software as a service.

Dr. Hazlett will be leading H2M’s hydrogeology and water resource modeling practice. In this role he will focus on expanding H2M’s existing services offerings and also serving overall as a high-level technical resource with regards to areas as diverse as water supply, environmental remediation, springs protection, flooding, watershed management planning, mine water management.

Prior to joining H2M, Dr. Hazlett served as a senior project manager, business development lead, project director, technical director, president and managing director, and the director of water resources business development at a variety of companies and corporations. Dr. Hazlett completed project work through these various positions in 21 states throughout the United States for major clients including Coca-Cola, State agencies, various Water Management Districts, and the US Department of Defense and Environmental Protection Agency, among others.
