As water suppliers and industry professionals grapple with back to work planning and workforce safety amidst COVID-19, H2M reminds all of our valued partners to remain mindful of their regulatory requirements and obligations.
On October 23, 2018, America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) was signed into law. Water Suppliers are required to submit certifications related to the completion of Risk and Resilience Assessments as well as their Emergency Response Plans, according to the table below:
H2M has prepared nearly 50 Emergency Response Plans over the past few years for our valued clients. Our highly skilled team understands the regulations, has successfully executed similar assignments, and holds the experience necessary to work with Agencies at all levels.
What should you do next:
- Many of our Clients had submitted VA/ERPs to NYSDOH in 2017. These may be acceptable for use to certify; but, each system should evaluate whether any changes have occurred that would require updating of these documents.
- Update documents as necessary. Systems that have begun implementation of new systems to address
1,4-Dioxane, PFOS, or PFOA, should consider a review and potential updating/resubmission. - Certify compliance on the EPA web portal: CLICK HERE
