Melville, NY (February 27, 2017) – Anthony Kim is a Senior Project Engineer in the Electrical Engineering department at H2M architects + engineers. Anthony embraces the new spark of excitement for every project he is assigned to, and during his tenure with H2M he has gradually progressed his career forward.
Anthony has spent his entire career with H2M. Coming out of Polytechnic University with no idea on where he wanted to be, Anthony attended a career fair and met H2M. Anthony was impressed with the projects and scope of services that H2M had to offer, and weeks after leaving his contact information he received a call back to come into the firm for an interview. Immediately upon starting Anthony was blown away by the work environment and atmosphere.
“From the start I began to fall in love with my job at H2M, to be an Electrical Engineer at a firm with endless possibilities is truly a dream come true.” said, Anthony. Anthony’s favorite part about working at the firm is the people he gets to work alongside of every day. Collaborating with colleagues, who eventually become personal friends, and overcoming new challenges together is refreshing and remarkable for him. Anthony describes his colleagues as family, and he is proud to say that throughout his career he has established a “work family.”
Although Anthony has many accomplishments throughout his career at H2M, his biggest accomplishment is progressing his career to where he is today. Starting out as an entry level employee, Anthony worked hard to become a Senior Project Engineer and has his eyes set on moving up in the future. He welcomes the longevity opportunity that H2M offers, and he always feels refreshed by the work here allowing him to learn new things along the way.
“The consistency at H2M, having the ability to stay at one company for so long, and being able to move up successfully is a huge accomplishment for me.” added Anthony.
Anthony loves interacting and coordinating with clients to help fulfill their needs on a project. Anthony enjoys coordinating projects with the entire department and listening to everything his colleagues have to say to make sure the department delivers an H2M quality product.
Some of Anthony’s most memorable projects throughout his career are Suffolk County Community College Learning Resource Center, The Bristal Assisted Living facilities, and the Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown and Huntington. The Suffolk County Community College Learning Resource Center gave Anthony the opportunity to interact with clients and work alongside different architects. Observing the students and faculty of Suffolk County Community College utilizing the Learning Resource Center was very rewarding. The Bristal Assisted living facilities are important to him because of all the different design aspects behind the job. The people that reside in the space require special accommodations that are considered during the design of these facilities. The Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown and Huntington finished products were phenomenal and eye-catching. The community was fascinated by the buildings after completion and Anthony is proud of that.
After a long day of work, Anthony enjoys coming home and spending time relaxing with his wife of five years Euwon, and his daughter Audrey, who just turned one in March. Before Anthony and Euwon had their daughter, the couple were avid travelers and would visit Europe once a year. Living in Queens, Anthony and Euwon also like to explore the city and its active night life. Anthony also loves playing basketball at the public courts and snowboarding at Mountain Creek in New Jersey. Most people may not know that Anthony was born in Paraguay, South America. Also, ironically Anthony and Euwon met in nursery school and were in the same class. The couple later became high school sweethearts, and were best friends before their marriage.
Throughout his career Anthony has worked hard and stuck to H2M’s core values of; respect, dedication, integrity, teamwork, community, creativity, practicality, and opportunity. Anthony moved up the corporate ladder, and has a bright light beaming on his journey of continued success at H2M.
