Michael Keating Expands H2Ms Water Market as Practice Leader of Water Resources

Michael Keating, P.E. brings 40 years of knowledge and experience in operations, construction, project management, and treatment operations to H2M’s Water Resources group.

Michael has joined the team at H2M architects + engineers, taking on the role of Practice Leader for our Water Resources group.

Michael is an accomplished professional with engineering experience in construction, project management, operations and maintenance, 30 of which were with the City of New York.  As the former Director for the Water Treatment Operations Division, Bureau of Water Supply in the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), Michael was responsible for overseeing approximately 200 employees charged with delivering over 1 billion gallons of water a day to 8.5 million New York City residents.  He possesses extensive knowledge of the City’s water supply, distribution, wastewater collections, treatment plant operations, SCADA, and asset management.

Michael holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the State University at Buffalo. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and a NYS Certified Water Operator, Grade IA. He is an active member of the American Waterworks Association and has served locally on the NYS AWWA Board of Directors and Utility Council.

Michael will use the breadth of his experience, in all aspects of water supply and wastewater treatment, to provide the greatest value and insight to our clients in a manner best suited to their individual needs.  H2M is proud to announce Michael as the newest member of its Water Resources leadership team.
