Sustaining Company Culture

Melville, NY (January, 5 2017) – Robert Bee, R.A., LEED AP is a Senior Architect at H2M architects + engineers. Robert collaborates with different leaders of each department at H2M, keeping client satisfaction as the main goal in mind.

Robert enjoys working with every staff member at H2M on small and large scale projects. Robert strives to leave a legacy with his work alongside his colleagues at H2M. “The projects that I have been a part of stand out in the communities they serve, and the projects will serve these communities for 50+ years. Being able to show my kids my work, and knowing it will be there for years down the road is fascinating to me.” said Robert.

After graduating college and getting married Robert began his career working primarily on residential architectural projects. Robert was looking to expand his architectural knowledge and was intrigued by the type of work H2M was undertaking. Wanting to settle down and enhance his career with a company long term, Robert decided H2M was the perfect place to start his career. After working at H2M’s Melville Office for nine and half years, Robert moved to H2M’s NYC office to help guide staff and expand H2M’s footprint.

Robert explained, “Mentoring the staff, watching the junior staff grow, over time, and impacting their careers in a positive way is my biggest accomplishment at H2M so far. It is truly rewarding to be a part of that” Robert mentioned the opportunity to extend H2M’s culture to the NYC office was extremely important. Robert added, “Everything that I got out of H2M, I want our NYC staff to get out of H2M. Bringing the company culture to the NYC office was a huge goal of mine.”

Some of Robert’s most memorable completed projects are the new firehouse for Hicksville Fire District and Samaritan Village Highbridge Facility in Bronx, NY. The new Hicksville firehouse is one of his favorites because it was the first complete project he worked on at H2M from inception through completion. The Samaritan Village project is a larger scale project, and he appreciates the building’s purpose as a drug and alcohol treatment facility. It was rewarding for Robert to work on a project that will help a lot of people, and positively change their lives.

At home, Robert is a family man. He and his wife Jennifer have three daughters named Jacquie, Katie, and Carrie. In his spare time Robert loves to manage and coach his daughter’s softball teams. Robert makes sure that the kids he coaches are having fun, playing safe, and are learning something new every day. Robert is a huge Yankees, Jets, and Islanders fan. He loves the city, and enjoys exploring different places with his kids. He is also a car fanatic and what most people may not know about Robert is that he re-built his ‘81 Camaro from the ground up in his late teens out of his parents garage. Robert explained he went to the library, took out a book, and taught himself how to put the engine in to allow the car to function.

Robert has more than 13 years of experience in the field of architecture. He is responsible for managing and facilitating all phases of design projects, from preliminary design through construction administration. Robert is a man who wears many hats in H2M’s NYC office, and is truly an expert in all that he does.
