NJBIZ Features H2M Article on Building Decarbonization

Electrical Engineering Department Manager Anthony Kim, P.E., recently authored an article in NJBIZ about how real estate owners and developers can improve energy efficiency in their properties and meet New Jersey’s ambitious climate goals.

The article, titled “How New Jersey Buildings Can Hit Decarbonization Goals,” outlines several sustainable renovations that property owners can implement in order to meet New Jersey’s statewide goal of reducing 2006-era greenhouse gas emission levels by 80 percent by 2050. These renovations include thermal envelope improvements, building management systems, alternative energy sources, and building electrification, among others. When consulting with AEC firms, property owners should consider a multidisciplinary approach, as it can spur more holistic and broadly effective solutions for energy efficiency by incorporating the input of architects, engineers, and other specialists.

A licensed Professional Engineer in five states, Anthony Kim leverages his 15-plus years of experience to design and implement a wide array of electrical systems, including emergency generators, interior and exterior lighting, electric vehicle chargers, fire and security alarm systems, and power distribution infrastructure.
