Conserving for the Future Through Our Design Solutions

H2M is dedicated to building sustainable communities. We work towards this goal by building multi-disciplined teams around project specific goals to identify opportunities and develop designs that address client needs while considering environmental and social impacts. Our project approach is continually evolving to respond to current knowledge and includes tools that allows for more data driven, objective, decision making throughout a projects life cycle.

Erik D. Heuler, R.A.,
LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP + Homes

Project Architect, Sustainability Director
Member of the U.S. Green Building Council

Mr. Heuler works extensively with H2M’s Sustainability Committee to advance H2M’s corporate sustainability initiatives, data driven decisions and integrative design.

Erik facilitates interdisciplinary teams within H2M and alongside clients, contractors, and outside consultants, to ensure project sustainability goals are identified and achieved using a holistic systems approach while meeting the overall goals of each specific project.  An integrative design process helps to identify project goals, develop and optimize designs, ensure proper implementation of all strategies and, when necessary, document compliance during both design and construction phases. With the aid of analysis software, and a coordinated team, project specific strategies are selected to best serve the client and building users. Mr. Heuler has an extensive knowledge of the LEED green building rating system for both commercial and residential buildings but supports all projects with sustainability objectives regardless of the projects certification goals.
