H2M’s Robert Nilsen Recognized in Commercial Observer Spotlight

Commercial real estate magazine Commercial Observer recently featured H2M Project Designer Robert Nilsen, Associate AIA, in its 2025 Top Young Professionals spotlight.

Each year, Commercial Observer recognizes architects, engineers, and contractors under the age of 35 who have blazed industry trails, served as role models for their peers, and moved their discipline forward. Robert—a graduate of both Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Harvard Graduate School of Design—is experienced in providing design phase, permitting, code review, and construction administrative services to government agency and private real estate clients.

One of Robert’s unique specialties is elevator design, a skill he has utilized for the modernization and upgrade of hundreds of elevators on behalf of municipalities and government agencies in New York and New Jersey. Robert’s work with the New York City Housing Authority in particular has allowed him to give back to the community by contributing to safe, functional, and accessible housing for lower-income New York City residents.
