H2M Relocates NYC Office

H2M architects + engineers has been building communities for 90 years, and has maintained an office in New York City since 2015. The firm recently held an open house to welcome clients and neighbors into their new office location. Now residing on the 14th floor at 230 West 38th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues, this midtown office features flexible and multifunctional spaces designed to enable inter-office collaboration and facilitate creative problem-solving. Their phone number will continue to be: 646-518-6300.

The open house featured speeches from H2M’s President and CEO, Richard Humann, P.E.; Private Sector Architecture Deputy Discipline Director and New York City Office Manager, Robert Ikes, III, R.A.; Private Sector Architecture Studio Director, Maria Di Natale, AIA; and Chief Growth & Development Officer, Jim Powers, AIA. The New York Building Congress was also present for the ribbon cutting.

“We want this office to be a home away from home,” Ikes said in his speech. Humann added, “We are proud of the space, proud of the open house, proud to be H2Mers.”

When the lease for the previous office space ended and the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown began, H2M started investigating potential office locations that would accommodate more flexible working arrangements. The new office features “desk hoteling,” in which teams reserve desks, meeting rooms, and other resources on an as-needed basis. This model reduces the amount of permanent infrastructure needed in more traditional offices that are often left unused on a day-to-day basis. The open floor plan now features multiple work environments, such as breakout rooms, private call rooms, and more collaborative meeting spaces.

Having the entire floor of the building will also accommodate the firm’s growth as their integrated team of professionals continues to expand their service offerings and capabilities.
