H2M’s David Pacheco Named 2025 Trailblazer in Construction
City & State New York, one of New York’s premier magazines covering statewide policy and infrastructure, recently named H2M Senior Vice President and Director of Operations David J. Pacheco, AIA, to its 2025 Trailblazers in Construction spotlight.
Every year, City & State publishes a list recognizing the most prominent, impactful, and innovative voices in New York State’s architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
David has over 30 years of architectural experience, with 28 years of specialized knowledge in the design of emergency services facilities, including over 200 fire, police, and rescue stations throughout the United States. He served as Principal of his own firm, Pacheco Ross Architects, P.C., before merging the firm with H2M in 2016. As H2M’s Director of Operations, David manages teams responsible for design development, project budgets and schedules, construction documents, submissions to government agencies, and construction administration.
In addition to his work at H2M, David is a Professor of Professional Practice at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and serves as Fire Commissioner for Niskayuna Fire District No. 1 in Niskayuna, NY. He has also contributed his expertise to the development of national standards for the design of public safety facilities over the course of his career.
David’s prior accolades include the Albany Business Review 40 Under 40, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Scholars in Professional Practice Award, and the inaugural Educator Award from the Eastern New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
