H2M’s Jessica DeMarco Selected as NYSAWWA’s 2025 Young Water Professional of the Year

Jessica DeMarco, P.E., was recently selected as the American Water Works Association (AWWA) New York Section’s 2025 Young Water Professional of the Year.

Jessica will officially receive her award at NYSAWWA’s annual New York Water Event in Saratoga Springs. For Jessica, the award is something she holds in high regard and doesn’t take for granted.

“I was so thrilled and humbled to hear that I was selected for this honor. It feels amazing and fulfilling to be recognized for my work and dedication. It motivates me to continue contributing to the industry,” she said.

Jessica, who serves as a Senior Project Engineer, specializes in preparing specifications and design plans for the purpose of bidding public works water projects, navigating regulatory agency review, and assisting with the construction of potable water treatment systems, rehabilitation of supply wells, and distribution system improvement projects.

In 2019, she also received the Long Island Business News’ “30 Under 30” distinction. Jessica advises young professionals just getting started in the industry to embrace new relationships and to get involved with organizations like AWWA.

“There is so much to learn in this industry, and our colleagues are a wealth of information,” she said.

Jessica added that awards such as the Young Water Professional of the Year would not be possible without the support she receives from her colleagues at H2M.

“My H2M colleagues have been a vital source of support and guidance, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from them.”
