Mold and Water Damage Inspection 

A large, 12 story building that contains a multitude of commercial, retail, and residential units along with common areas, had been impacted by water intrusion originating from a HVAC unit on the top floor. To assist in the remediation of the mold impacted and water damaged building and finishing materials, H2M’s environmental team was selected to conduct a visual inspection, sampling and prepare a summary report with a mold remediation scope of work.

H2M’s environmental team successfully inspected this building location while, simultaneously, various businesses continued to operate, and residents resided. A comprehensive survey was completed for mold growth and water damage which included sampling, moisture, as well as relative humidity mapping of impacted areas and finishing materials.

To initiate the process of remediation of the observed water damages and mold growth, H2M provided the client with a scope of work and detailed recommendations. Following completion of remediation protocols, the team performed a clearance inspection and concluded that the mold remediation work had successfully remediated mold damage caused by the HVAC unit leak.

Throughout the project timeline, our team of certified New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) mold assessors conducted inspections with all proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA 29 asbestos safety standards, allowing the facility to return to normal and safe operations in a timely manner.
