H2M worked with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to prepare an application and supporting documentation for a Zero Discharge Wash Water Permit.

H2M worked with Enterprise to prepare an application and supporting documentation for a “Zero Discharge Wash Water Permit” from the Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS) for a facility Enterprise recently took over at Long Island MacArthur Airport. Enterprise planned to install new vehicle wash equipment. The zero-discharge wash water system utilized an existing wash bay in the north side of the existing building. H2M conducted a site visit to facilitate preparation of drawings with plan and elevation views with the wash facility indoor equipment and visible piping for submission and review by the SCDHS.

A radius map utilizing an aerial was prepared for a distance of 200 feet from the Enterprise lease area that included the following:

• Location map
• Location of wash bay within the building
• Location of wash equipment within the building
• Location of public or private water supply wells within 200 feet from the lease area
• Location of storm drainage and sanitary systems

In addition to preparing the above described drawings, H2M:

• Prepared a SCDHS Application for A Zero Discharge Wash Water Permit
• Prepared SCDHS Water Usage Data Sheet showing liquid movement within the system
• Using the building floor plan, we worked with the vehicle wash equipment manufacturer to create a floor plan with the layout of the proposed vehicle wash system
• H2M staff also met with the SCDHS for the inspection of the completed installation necessary for issuance of the permit
