Design Services

Long Island Community Hospital selected H2M to design the Knapp Cardiac Care Center, a 60,000-square-foot, $60 million facility dedicated exclusively to cardiac diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services.

The lower level comprises administrative suites and functions. The main level features a large waiting area and reception services for both patients and visitors, along with a non-invasive cardiology suite, two catheterization lab suites, doctors/consultation offices, and a large conference room. This main level also connects directly to the pre- and post-procedure suite, a 13-bed unit with a nurses station and all necessary support services.

The upper floor is dedicated to four state-of-the-art operating rooms equipped for heart surgery and necessary support services, a doctors lounge and staff locker rooms, and an 18-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit with a nurses station and support functions required by their patients.

H2M was also responsible for the design of a new asphalt parking lot, site work, new site lighting, and accommodations for ADA parking and accessibility.
