Parsippany - Troy Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant
Wastewater Interceptor Evaluation
Parsippany, NJ
Since the interceptors and siphons to the Parsippany – Troy Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant had not been cleaned or evaluated since being placed into service more than 40 years ago, H2M was called in to assess the condition of the existing pipes.
H2M prepared bid documents to 3D laser and sonar scan, televise, and clean the Township of Parsippany – Troy Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant interceptor sewer. The sewers were located in public roadways and in the Troy Meadows wetland. The contract required that the contractor provide the GPS location at submeter accuracy for the center of each manhole cover. The sewers consisted of over 9,000 feet of 72 diameter RCP sewer; 1,500 feet of 48 diameter RCP sewer; and over 500 feet of parallel 36 and 30 siphon pipes in the program.
Upon completion of the television scanning and television inspection, H2M reviewed the contractor’s video and logs. The specifications also required that the contractor provide a DVD with MPEG files of the television inspection to allow the data to be added to the Township collection system GIS.
A report which summarizes the findings of the inspection and recommendations for rehabilitation was prepared for the client.
