The Peck School
Athletic Field Feasibility Study
Morristown, NJ
The Peck School is an independent day school for grades kindergarten through eight. We performed a feasibility study to analyze the value of synthetic turf vs. grass for athletic and instructional renovations.
Our team began by meeting with school representatives and conducted a site visit to observe existing conditions, neighboring properties, and potential site constraints. The team also reviewed prior site plans, resolutions, permits and other approvals for the site; New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection wetland and sensitive area delineations; municipal and state regulations; soil tests; and the status of utility services on the site.
Our final report included the finals, recommendations and sketches for potential improvements, and an order of magnitude cost evaluation. The final scope consisted of renovating the grass field and keeping it grass, construction of a multipurpose turf field, and enhancement of the spectator experience by adding ancillary support structures such as storage and bleachers.
