Fully-Electric Building Design

H2M is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design for a new fully-electric, three-story apartment building with a two-story parking garage. This building is ‘Building No. 7’ under the Phase 2B of the multi-phased Station Yards transit-oriented development (formally known as Ronkonkoma Hub). The facility will be Energy Star Multifamily New Construction and National Green Building Standard compliant.

The proposed building is approximately 200,000 square feet and includes 173 dwelling units, 3,000 square feet of amenity space, and 1,400 square feet of retail space. A small basement is located on the southeast corner of the building and will be used for utilities and tenant storage.

A prefabricated concrete parking garage is nestled within the building footprint. The garage will be independent to the building and enclosed on the first level. In addition, the electrical design will include 5% of parking spots for EV charging with a future capacity of 20%.
