Fire Sprinkler Investigation & Design

Queens, NY

The USPS contracted our team to perform a preliminary evaluation of the existing fire suppression systems at its 90,000-square-foot Jamaica Main Post Office in Queens, NY, and to provide recommendations and cost estimates.

The facility was only partially outfitted with sprinklers, and the sprinklers that were installed were not regularly maintained. The sprinklers and their associated valves were over 50 years old, and the entire sprinkler system was missing vital backflow prevention equipment.

After evaluating the site, we provided a report recommending the replacement of the existing sprinkler system. We then provided the USPS with complete design documents and specifications for the new system including a new building fire pump, as well construction administration services which included aiding with the bidding process and performing construction inspections
