Port Jefferson Station, NY
Concern for Independent Living selected H2M to provide multidisciplinary design services for a supported housing development project in Port Jefferson Station, NY.
The project included six apartment buildings and one community center. The six apartment buildings house a total of 77 affordable one- and two-bedroom units for low-income families.
The community center in the development contains a muti-purpose room, indoor fitness room, and outdoor exercise equipment. Buildings are featured with slope roofs, stone, and different cement panel exterior walls. The development also features a walking path with tenant garden areas and exercise station.
As this was a New York State New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) project, it was subject to compliance with all HCR regulations and requirements, as well as NYS Fair Housing requirements. The building materials used were subject to additional approval to comply with Green Building enterprise environmental requirements.
