Project Spotlight: Event Hall Addition at Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth
H2M recently completed a brand-new, all-purpose event center addition to the Administration Building on the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth campus in Morris Township, NJ.
The addition spans 5,000 square feet, with space for approximately 125 occupants and a raised 300-square-foot presentation area. Due to the construction of the addition over an existing terrace which sat on top of a basement level with critical utilities, H2M had to make modifications to the existing access driveway, parking, and loading areas.
The new entry area features a lobby/vestibule with automatic opening doors, new restrooms, a storage area, and a coat closet. The exterior of the addition matches the historical façades of the existing administration building. H2M worked closely with the Sisters to incorporate some of the existing historic features, including lights and emblematic stonework from the terrace into the design of the new addition.
H2M provided complete architectural and engineering services, including structural, MEP, civil, and planning, involving preparation of topographic surveys, site plans, schematic designs, permitting, and construction documents, as well as providing construction administration services. The addition was recently dedicated as the Caritas Center as part of the 165th anniversary of the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth.
