LEVITTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY

H2M performed an investigation of the existing systems and provided a feasibility study which included multiple options for HVAC upgrades. After considering first costs, operations and maintenance costs, system efficiencies and the impacts of construction on the operation of the Library, a project program was created. The design included the demolition of existing building air handlers, chiller plant and hot water heating plant. New air-cooled equipment was located on the roof to facilitate access and maintenance. A new high efficiency boiler plant was provided along with new hot water heating coils. Existing chilled water fan coil units were replaced with variable refrigerant flow (VRF) fan coil units and an energy recovery ventilation system.
We provided engineering services from the original investigation through construction administration and inspection. We worked closely with the Library’s construction manager in monitoring all construction activities and phasing. Due to the cooperation of all parties involved, the Library was able to remain open to the public with the duration of construction.
