Station Yards is an ambitious multi-phased development project encompassing a 53-acre site surrounding the Ronkonkoma LIRR Station. H2M architects + engineers provided civil engineering for Phases 1 and 2, creating this new destination hub for Long Islanders set to redefine the fabric of the local community, merging residential, commercial, and recreational spaces into a cohesive ecosystem. Along with 1,450 apartments, Station Yards will feature 195,000 square feet of retail space, 360,000 square feet of office space, and a public plaza, creating thousands of jobs and housing options at the busiest train station in Suffolk County.
Phase 2A of Station Yards continues to unfold, with 388 apartment units called The Core, 67,000 square feet of retail space, and 16,500 square feet of office space, all slated for completion this summer. H2M provided civil and MEP services for the construction of Phase 2A.
The retail area is 50% leased and exclusively features Long Island-based tenants. Station Yards will also be home to TRITEC’s new headquarters. By integrating residential, office, and retail components into a single, cohesive development, Station Yards is not just reshaping the physical landscape of Ronkonkoma but also fostering a sense of community and belonging among its residents and visitors.
One of the project’s most transformative aspects is its contribution to infrastructure improvements, particularly sewage management. Station Yards has introduced a state-of-the-art sewer system to the middle of Long Island, featuring a pump station with 1.5 million gallons of capacity. This pivotal enhancement facilitates the development’s ambitious scale and lays the groundwork for broader economic growth and environmental benefits across the region.
The project also includes an innovative underground parking structure and a five-level parking garage, providing ample and convenient parking for residents, workers, and visitors.
