H2M Continues Internal Changes; Appoints New Assistant Vice Presidents

MELVILLE, NY, JUNE 21, 2018 —

Celebrating its 85th Anniversary in 2018, H2M architects + engineers has announced several internal changes to their corporate leadership.  These changes, set forth by H2M’s President/CEO Rich Humann, P.E., are designed to better align the corporate structure with the growth of the firm and its Vision 2022 strategic outlook.  To execute this vision, the following employees have been promoted to Assistant Vice Presidents: Veronica Byrnes, R.A., LEED AP; John Collins, P.E., LEED AP; Robert Ikes, III, R.A., LEED AP, CDT, CEO; Michael Lantier, P.E., LEED AP; Renee Marcus, R.A., C.I.D., LEED AP BD+C, CSI; Debra Mattina; Matthew Mohlin, P.E.; Jamie Pizzardi, CPA; Kevin Taylor, P.G.; and Joseph Todaro, P.E., LEED AP BD+C.

Veronica Byrnes, R.A., LEED AP, has more than 18 years of experience in the field of Architecture.  Over the past 15 years, she has focused on projects within H2M’s Emergency Services and Education markets.  Her current role is Office Manager of the Westchester, NY branch. At this location, she is responsible for project and client management, business development, and growth within the Westchester branch.

John Collins, P.E., LEED AP, is currently the Department Manager of Water Resources and has been using his knowledge in water distribution, subsurface field investigations and inspection services to serve Long Island water districts for over 18 years.  John’s experience in water distribution includes numerous projects ranging from the extension of transmission and distribution mains for potable and raw water to projects including the replacement of aging infrastructure.

Robert Ikes, III, R.A., LEED AP, CDT, CEO, has been in the design industry for 19 years.  Throughout this time, he has worked on Residential and Commercial projects.  His expertise has spanned H2M Markets including Real Estate, Education, Municipal, and Public Agency.  Robert’s current role is Office Director for H2M architects + engineers NYC office, where he is responsible for the financial success and growth of the Manhattan office.

Michael Lantier, P.E., LEED AP, a Discipline Engineer, is involved with H2M’s Education market, focusing a majority of his time on Long Island school districts by serving K-12 and upper-level public and private schools.  Dedicated to his background in Electrical Engineering, he makes an effort to continuously engage in learning and community involvement opportunities.  Michael holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Stony Brook University in addition to his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NYIT, as well as various positions in local community service organizations.

Renee Marcus, R.A., C.I.D., LEED AP BD+C, CSI, has taken on the role of Studio Director for H2M architects + engineers.  With 23 years of experience and numerous published articles, she is a skilled Project Manager overseeing projects from program inception to construction completion all over the globe.  Renee’s involvement with our Education market has led her to Adjunct Professor at SUNY Farmingdale, with an M.B.A. and B.S. in Architectural Technology from NYIT herself.

Debra Mattina is the Department Manager for Forensics and has worked on numerous asbestos, mold, environmental and hazardous material concerns and indoor air quality projects.  Debbie’s role encompasses the responsibility of the facilitation of site inspections, development of remedial strategies, and oversight of remedial activities to ensure both cost effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standard practices. Debra consults with clients, contractors and homeowners throughout the entire remedial process, and serves as a primary point of contact for the client.

With over 25 years of experience in civil engineering, Matthew Mohlin, P.E., is a Senior Discipline Engineer.  His expertise has spanned a wide variety of disciplines. Since joining H2M, he has provided his knowledge in areas such as irrigation systems, parks and recreational facilities, as well as drainage and sanitary systems. Matthew has dedicated his civil engineering career to improving the lives of those around him.

H2M’s Controller, Jamie Pizzardi, CPA oversees the accounting operations of the firm. This includes production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Kevin Taylor, P.G., uses his knowledge in geoscience and biology as the Department Manager of Environmental Services. Kevin is active in spill-related site investigations, management of large and small-scale site characterizations, and providing expert witness and litigation support services. Through his work at H2M, Kevin has guided a 24-hour spill response program to provide environmental consulting services around the clock. Kevin’s membership in H2M’s Corporate Safety Committee solidifies his integral position on the H2M team.

Joseph Todaro, P.E., LEED AP BD+C,  Department Manager of Water Resources, has been responsible for design plans and specifications, technical reports, and system evaluations of water treatment, storage, and pumping facilities; while also serving as the client liaison for project scoping and planning. His memberships to the American Water Works Association and the Long Island Water Conference reinforce Joseph’s commitment to water supply engineering.
