H2M architects + engineers proudly announces that John McCaffrey has joined the firm as the Director of Information Technology (IT).
John has been providing broad business and technology services to various private enterprises and government agencies for 38 years.
Most recently, John was providing Chief Information Officer (CIO) advisory services to the LiRo Group (architecture, engineering, and construction management) in Syosset, NY. He helped to create LiRo’s Applied Technology division incorporating their GIS, virtual design, and IT services for clients. He was working toward the overhaul of LiRo’s systems and network infrastructure with a focus on cybersecurity and continuity systems. Prior to this position, John held positions as CIO for the Department of Information Technology (DoIT) for Westchester County, New York from 2006 – 2012; CIO for Orange County, New York from 2005 – 2012; and from 1999 – 2005 was director of Management Information Systems for the Village of Skokie, Illinois following his role as Deputy Commissioner of Finance for the Town of North Hempstead, New York from 1982 – 1999.
John holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on IT from the Keller Graduate School of Management, a Master of Science degree in Network and Communication Management from DeVry University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from St. John’s University and has three Master Certifications in Electronic Commerce, Information Systems Security, and Wireless Networking.
